I honestly don’t know how Chelsea fans should feel about this Malo Gusto situation yet. Manchester City coming back to the table for our right-back is definitely something worth paying attention to.

Reports are saying City have re-established contact with Chelsea over Gusto, after the player reportedly agreed personal terms with them earlier in July. And now the big question is: what exactly is Chelsea’s plan?
At first, the asking price was believed to be around £75 million. That already sounded like a serious statement from Chelsea. But now we are hearing figures ranging from around £45 million to more than £60 million.
I personally would not be too comfortable with Chelsea letting Gusto go cheaply.
The French defender is only 23, and although he still has areas of his game that need improvement, there is something very valuable about having a young full-back who can contribute on both sides of the pitch.
And that seems to be exactly what Manchester City are looking for.
City need a full-back who can operate on either flank, and Gusto’s versatility makes him an interesting option for them.
But from Chelsea’s perspective, this is where the conversation becomes complicated.
If the club decides to sell Gusto, the fee needs to make sense. Losing a young player with potential is one thing, but losing him for a price that Chelsea fans later feel was too low would make the situation even worse.
I also wonder whether Manchester City are genuinely prepared to meet Chelsea’s valuation or whether they are simply testing the waters.
Because if City really want him, Chelsea should not be in a hurry to make things easy for them.
As a Chelsea fan, I would personally prefer to keep Gusto unless the club receives an offer that is simply too good to reject. He still has room to develop, and selling him now could easily become one of those transfers we look back on and question later.
So, what do you think?
Should Chelsea keep Malo Gusto, or should the club cash in if Manchester City make a big enough offer? 👀🔵
