Ever since Chelsea started being linked with Morgan Rogers, I have seen plenty of fans asking the same question: what does this mean for Cole Palmer? To be honest, I don't think it's something we should be losing sleep over.

I can understand why people are making the comparison. I remember Chelsea's game against Aston Villa last season when both Palmer and Rogers were among the main talking points. Rogers had a really good game that day and showed exactly why so many clubs rate him so highly. He looked confident every time he had the ball and was not afraid to take players on.
But one good performance does not suddenly make this a "Palmer or Rogers" debate.
For me, football does not work like that anymore. The best teams don't rely on just one creative player. They have options, and that's exactly what Chelsea have been trying to build over the last few transfer windows.
Something I found interesting is that Palmer and Rogers already know each other from their time at Manchester City academy days. I even came across the story that Rogers was the one who first came up with Palmer's famous "cold" celebration. Little things like that make me think they could actually enjoy playing together if the transfer happens and which already has.
The biggest challenge won't be for the players but it will be for the manager. Finding the right balance is part of the job. Rogers is flexible enough to play in different attacking roles, while Palmer has already shown he can influence games from several positions. I don't think they have to compete for exactly the same spot every week.
I have also seen rumours about Palmer leaving Chelsea in the future, but I'm not buying into them. Every transfer window comes with stories like that. From everything we have heard recently, Palmer seems settled in London, and Chelsea clearly see him as one of the key players for the future. With the long contract he signed, I don't see the club letting him go anytime soon.
I'd personally love to see Rogers signing and I can't wait to see him playing in blue jersey. Healthy competition usually brings out the best in players, and Chelsea need a stronger squad if they want to challenge for major trophies again this season. Injuries, suspensions and a packed fixture list mean you can't depend on just eleven players.
At the end of the day, I don't think this should be about choosing between Palmer and Rogers. I'd rather see Chelsea find a way to get the best out of both. Since the signing official announced, our attack could become even more exciting to watch this season.
