Some football matches grab your attention from the first whistle, and this was definitely one of them. I sat down expecting Spain to control possession, and that's exactly how the game started. They moved the ball around confidently, pressed high up the pitch, and looked like the team more likely to score. But Belgium never looked intimidated, and that made the game much more enjoyable to watch.

One player I could not take my eyes off was Lamine Yamal. Every time he got on the ball, I found myself expecting something special. He had a couple of chances that easily could have changed the game earlier. There was one moment when he slipped just as he was about to shoot, and another effort that drifted just wide of the far post. It was not his luckiest half, but his confidence was obvious.
On the Belgian side, Jeremy Doku was the player that impressed me the most. His pace and dribbling are a nightmare for defenders. There were times when Spain surrounded him with two or three players, yet he still found a way to escape. I still think he can improve his finishing and final pass, but there's no denying how dangerous he is whenever he runs with the ball.
When Fabián Ruiz finally scored for Spain, I honestly thought Belgium might struggle to recover. Spain had been creating more chances, so the goal felt deserved. For a few minutes, it looked like they were about to take complete control of the match.
Then Belgium reminded everyone why football can be so unpredictable.
Charles De Ketelaere found the equaliser before halftime, and suddenly everything changed. Instead of going into the break chasing the game, Belgium pulled themselves right back into the contest. It was a great response and showed plenty of character.
I also have to give Belgium credit because they came into such a big match without some important players in midfield. Losing key names before kickoff could have disrupted their plans, but they stayed organised and fought hard.
At the end of the first half, I thought 1-1 was a fair result. Spain probably had more of the ball and created the better chances, but Belgium made the most of their opportunity. That's what good teams do.
Now I'm really looking forward to the second half. Spain will probably keep dominating possession, but Belgium have already shown they can punish mistakes. With players like Yamal, Doku and De Bruyne still on the pitch, it feels like this match could go either way. As a football fan, that's exactly the kind of game I love watching.
