I'll be honest, this was not the most exciting World Cup match I have watched, but it was one of those games that kept me glued to the screen because I knew one moment could change everything.

Switzerland and Colombia fought for every ball, but neither team could find the breakthrough after 120 long minutes. There were not many clear-cut chances, and both defenses did a great job of frustrating the opposition. It felt like everyone was waiting for someone to make a mistake.
If I'm being fair, I actually thought Colombia looked more dangerous. They attacked with more confidence and created the better opportunities, especially in extra time. When Jhon Lucumí's header crashed against the crossbar, I thought that was going to be the winning goal. Then Jaminton Campaz got another huge chance, but somehow could not hit the target. Looking back now, those missed opportunities ended up costing them.
Once the referee blew for penalties, it became a completely different game. At that point, it was not just about football anymore. It was about handling pressure.
I felt sorry for Davinson Sánchez after his missed penalty, but that's the harsh reality of knockout football. One mistake can change everything. Gregor Kobel deserves a lot of credit too. His save from Cucho Hernández gave Switzerland the advantage they needed, and when Ruben Vargas stepped up for the final penalty, he looked so calm. The moment the ball hit the back of the net, the Swiss players celebrated like a team that knew how hard they had worked for that victory.
As happy as Switzerland will be, I can't help feeling for Colombia. They gave everything, played with courage, and probably deserved a little more from the game. Unfortunately, football does not always reward the better attacking team. Sometimes it rewards the team that keeps its nerve when the pressure is at its highest.
Now Switzerland have an even bigger challenge waiting for them—Argentina. That is a completely different level. Defending well alone probably won't be enough against the defending champions. They will need to be much braver in attack and take every chance that comes their way if they want to pull off another surprise.
Whether they can do it or not remains to be seen, but one thing is certain, and that's the fact that this victory will give the Swiss plenty of confidence. It was not a flashy performance, but they found a way to win, and in tournament football, that's often all that matters.
