Today marks the fifth day since I brought these chicks home, and I'm happy with the progress they have made so far. Every single one of them is healthy, active, and gradually getting used to their new environment. Watching them settle in has been encouraging because they no longer look stressed like they did during the first couple of days.
One thing I have noticed today is how fast they are growing. They are already looking bigger, and their energy level has increased. They spend most of the day moving around, eating, drinking, and resting. It's amazing how much can change in just five days.
Their appetite has also gone up. The feeders that used to last much longer are now getting emptied quickly, and the same thing applies to their drinkers also. They now consume more feed and water than they did when they first arrived, which is a good sign that they are growing well.
Because of this, I'm already thinking of adding another feeder and drinker. I don't want them struggling for space whenever it's feeding time. Giving every chick easy access to feed and clean water will help them grow evenly, and that's exactly what I'm aiming for. Uniform growth makes flock management easier and usually leads to better results in the end.
I'm also grateful that I still have not recorded any mortality. Seeing all of them healthy and active gives me confidence that the care I'm giving them is paying off. Of course, I know poultry farming comes with its own challenges, so I won't relax yet. I will keep paying close attention to their feeding, water supply, cleanliness, and overall environment because these little things make a big difference.
For now, I'm simply enjoying every stage of this journey. Raising chicks requires patience and consistency, and each passing day teaches me something new. I hope the coming days bring even better growth and that I can continue sharing positive updates as these little birds develop into a strong and healthy flock.
