Hello Hive,
Whenever people talk about childhood memories, my mind immediately goes back to the days when life was much simpler. We didn't have smartphones, social media, or endless entertainment at our fingertips, but somehow we always found a way to have fun. Looking back now, some of my happiest memories were made right outside my house with friends from the neighborhood.

One thing I could do for hours without getting bored was playing football on the dusty streets. Every evening after school, we would rush through our chores just so we could meet up and play. We didn't care whether we had proper football boots or jerseys. Sometimes our goalposts were just two stones placed a few feet apart. All that mattered was getting enough players for a match.
Those games were always full of excitement. We argued over fouls, celebrated goals like professional footballers, and occasionally had disagreements that were forgotten a few minutes later. The funny thing is that the dusty field where we played probably wouldn't impress anyone today, but it felt like the biggest stadium in the world to us.
Apart from football, I also enjoyed games like ten-ten, suwe, and hide-and-seek. These games brought children together and kept us active for hours. Whenever I see children spending most of their time indoors with phones and tablets, I can't help but remember how different things were during my own childhood.
If I had the opportunity to bring back one thing from those days, it would definitely be some of the biscuits I grew up eating. Coconut biscuits, digestive biscuits, and especially Speedy biscuits were among my favorites. I still remember stopping by a small shop with a few naira in my pocket and feeling excited because I knew I could buy one of those treats.
What makes those biscuits special isn't just the taste. They remind me of a period in my life when things were carefree and simple. Sadly, they are not as common as they used to be, and some are quite difficult to find these days.
Although childhood is long gone, the memories remain. Whether it's the football matches on dusty streets or enjoying a pack of biscuits after a long day of playing, those moments still make me smile. They remind me that some of the best parts of life are often the simplest ones.
