Hello Hives,

‎When I was a kid, I had one big dream, and that's the fact that I wanted to become a professional footballer. Football was not just something I watched on television; it was something I loved doing. Anytime I had the opportunity, I was on the field with my friends, chasing the ball and imagining myself playing in a big stadium one day.

‎Like many young football lovers, I pictured myself wearing a professional club's jersey, playing in front of thousands of supporters and scoring important goals. At that age, everything seemed possible. I believed that if I loved football enough and kept playing, one day I would become a professional footballer.

‎But as I grew older, I began to understand that having a dream is one thing, while turning that dream into reality is another. There are many talented young footballers, but only a few number eventually make it to the professional level. School, financial challenges, family responsibilities and other circumstances gradually changed the direction of my life.

‎Today, instead of being on a football pitch as a professional player, I work as a plumber.

‎Honestly, plumbing was not the career I imagined for myself when I was a child. But life has a funny way of taking us to places we never expected. I learned the trade, developed practical skills and discovered that there is dignity in doing honest work, regardless of what the job is.

‎Being a plumber has also taught me lessons that football could never teach me. I have learned how to solve problems, work with my hands, deal with different people and remain patient when things don't go according to plan. Most importantly, it has shown me that a person's work does not have to match their childhood dream for that person to have a meaningful life.

‎Do I still love football? Absolutely. I still enjoy watching and talking about the game, and whenever I see young players chasing their dreams, it reminds me of the boy I used to be.

‎Sometimes life does not take us where we originally planned to go. That does not always mean we failed. Sometimes, we simply find ourselves walking on a different road.

‎My childhood dream was football, but my present reality is plumbing. And although the journey turned out differently from what I imagined, I am grateful for the skills, experiences and lessons the journey has given me.
