Hello Hives,
One thing I have come to understand is that not everyone who corrects you is trying to control you.
Sometimes, we get angry when someone points out our mistakes. We feel like they are interfering too much in our lives or trying to tell us what to do. And honestly, nobody likes being corrected all the time. There are moments when you just want to do things your own way and learn from whatever happens.

But there is something we sometimes fail to notice.
When someone truly cares about you, they may not always tell you what you want to hear. They will tell you what you need to hear.
If a man takes his time to teach you, guide you, explain things to you, and even correct you when you are going in the wrong direction, it does not automatically mean he wants to control you. Sometimes, it simply means he sees something in you and wants to help you become better.
Think about it. Why would someone keep spending their time explaining things to you if they did not care at all?
A person who has completely stopped caring may not even bother anymore. You can make the same mistake today, tomorrow, and next week, and they may just look at you and say, "It's your life."
They won't argue with you.
They won't try to explain themselves.
They won't bother correcting you.
They may simply keep quiet and eventually walk away.
However, I also believe there is a line between correction and control. Nobody should use "I am correcting you because I care" as an excuse to insult, manipulate, disrespect, or dominate another person. Genuine guidance should come with respect. You should still be allowed to have your own opinion and make your own decisions.
For me, the important thing is learning to look beyond the way correction makes us feel.
Sometimes the person correcting us is not our enemy. Maybe they are seeing a mistake that we are too emotional or too stubborn to see ourselves.
It does not mean we have to accept every piece of advice blindly. We can listen, think about it, and decide what is best for us.
But we should also appreciate people who truly care enough to tell us the truth.
Because sometimes, correction is not about control.
Sometimes, it is simply someone saying, "I care about you too much to watch you make the same mistake.
Thanks for Reading
