Hello Hives,
I have asked myself this question more than once: What actually makes someone a good person? Is it how much money they have? Their education? Their popularity? The more I think about it, the more I realize that none of those things truly define who a person is.

To me, being a good person is about the little things we do every day. It's about how we treat people when there's nothing to gain from being kind. It's easy to be nice when everything is going well, but our true character often shows during difficult moments.
I have met people who had very little financially but were always willing to share what they had. At the same time, I have also come across people who had everything they could ever want but found it difficult to show compassion to others. That taught me that goodness is not measured by what you own but it's measured by what is in your heart.
One quality I really admire is honesty. It takes courage to tell the truth, especially when the truth is uncomfortable. A good person does not have to be perfect, but they should be someone whose words can be trusted. Trust is something that takes years to build and only a moment to lose.
Another thing I believe matters is empathy. We never truly know what someone else is going through. The person smiling today might be carrying a heavy burden inside. That's why I think it's better to choose kindness instead of rushing to judge people. Sometimes, a simple act of understanding can mean more than expensive gifts or grand gestures.
Of course, nobody gets it right all the time. We all make mistakes. I have made my own share of them too. But I don't think being a good person means living a flawless life. It means admitting when you are wrong, learning from your mistakes, apologizing when necessary, and trying to become a better version of yourself.
At the end of the day, people may forget how successful we were or how much money we made. What they are more likely to remember is how we treated them. Did we show respect? Did we help when we could? Did we leave people feeling better after meeting us?
For me, that's what defines a good person. Not perfection, but a sincere heart that chooses kindness, honesty, humility, and compassion, even when no one is watching.
