Every novelty presented in Splinterlands manages to renew my experiences with the game, and you may have already noticed that I really liked the Weapons Training Image from thread ability, and its strategies, due to the numerous posts I have made about it.

In this recent Brawl, I managed to perform well, achieving 7 victories and only 1 defeat (so close!). Among these matches, one stood out, and I decided to share it with you to demonstrate how it's possible to optimize combos to turn low mana cards into true monsters!

With limited mana available and constrained by the Keep Your Distance https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/splinterlands/images/0/0c/Combat-rule_keep-your-distance.png/revision/latest/scale-to-width-down/25?cb=20210209072022 rule, I necessarily needed to form a composition of ranged attacks. Initially, I thought about a front line with a lot of life accompanied by various cards with Ranged Damage Image from thread. Still, with the What Doesn't Kill You https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/splinterlands/images/a/a0/Combat-rule_Spreading-Fury.png/revision/latest/scale-to-width-down/25?cb=20210308205839 present, there was a risk of a card becoming very fast and evading my attacks.

Then I remembered that I recently obtained the Aves Sturgis from a chest, and there are some excellent options for No Attack Image from thread cards in the Life https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/splinterlands/images/c/c6/Splinter-life.png/revision/latest/scale-to-width-down/15?cb=20210212224241 element to combo with. So, I decided to follow this strategy. Besides Sturgis, which cost me 6 mana, the other 3 cards cost only 1/2 mana, and I even indulged myself by adding Grandmaster Rathe as a summoner, precisely because I trusted that these low-cost cards would be sufficient.

Battle.

In addition to the protection and dodging ability of the first two cards, Sturgis distributed 2 Magic Damage Image from thread to adjacent cards with its ability, significantly increasing the offensive capacity of my team and providing an active way for Helmet Kharafax to take down opponents and activate its Bloodlust Image from thread. This strategy worked wonderfully well because, in the second round, Helmet got its first takedown, and the next target was set to be taken down in the following round.

When Aves Sturgis was finally eliminated, Helmet had already achieved 3 takedowns and had incredibly high stats due to its abilities. Adding the Bloodlust Image from thread buffs and the stacks from the Scavenger Image from thread ability, this 2-mana card had 13 Life and still had three enemies in front to be taken down.

Even facing Doctor Blight (one of the best cards in the game in my opinion), capable of dealing a lot of damage and surviving due to its abilities, Helmet Kharafax continued to take down one enemy after another. Despite the delay in eliminating the enemy Helmet (which also had a lot of life and received only half the damage due to Void Image from thread) it finally managed to bring it down, leaving only Blight in a 1x1 situation.

It managed to tank all the hits and Poison Image from thread, and only two attacks were enough to completely drain Doctor Blight's life. Costing only 2 mana, the attack received by Weapons Training Image from thread from Sturgis was enough to turn Helmet into a monster with absurd statistics. It was responsible for eliminating 100% of the opponent's cards and resisting numerous blows.

This battle shows us that any card can be extremely useful if you have it at the right level and combine it with the right cards. This Brawl was incredible, and I hope to maintain a satisfactory performance in the next one, which will start in 48 hours!

Image from thread
