Neal Boortz said "If you walk through life in a fighting pose with your fists balled up and ready to strike, someone, someday, somewhere, is going to want to test your mettle." The above lines of words are just thr best description of the battle I drew with Earthquake ruleset. This ruleset allows that all non-flying units take 2 physical damage at the end of every turn. Also, snared units are considered non-flying. Since the damage given is physical, it can be reduced to 1 if the unit has the shield ability.
With 40 Manna cap, I selected Arkemis the Bear (12), Serpent of Eld (7), Disintegrator (7), Merdaali Guardian (3) and Deeplurker (6). Incidentally, the enemy team also fielded Arkemis the Bear to lead the other monsters for the fight. However, they had a different summoner. Flaunting Arkemis the Bear for the fight made it look like a very hard duel but one overpowered the other due to the compounding attacking force from other supporting monsters.
The Earthquake ruleset do not only test the resilience of the teams in terms of health and armor, it also tests the attacking strength of each team. The enemy team fieled a summoner that gave all its monsters the Blast ability. This ability does half damage to the units adjascent to a killed monster. This seemed like a double attack ability for all the monsters in the enemy team each time my monster dropped dead. See screenshots of the battle below for each round.
At the ene of the first round, all monster units in the battlefield still stood strong.
By the end of the second round,my team lost a monster unit - Arkemis the bear and this led to a loss of armor on all other monsters in the team.

It was a terrific loss for my team and this was due to the "earthquake" effect. My monster units did not have sufficient staminar to withsand the damages as a result of the ruleset pluys the damages due to the blast ability summoned on the enemy monsters. The battle ended with three monsters alive in the enemy team.
The Earthquake ruleset should be engaged in such a way that the monster units are shielded from quiclk health depletion. This would be achieved by selecting monster units with high health and armor counts. Fielding a monster like Merdaali Guardian was a waste of manna for this ruleset. A monster with good attacking ability woulkd have fared better for the team than such defensive action is poses.
My team lost the batle but there was lots of lessons to learn. We certainy would do better in a future battle with that ruleset.
