Music has been in existence right from the days of old and at a point has been one of the universal language even up to now because it is one of the things that bring unity to the world, it is one of the things that can evoke a lot of things like emotions that even we can't imagine, from the days of old musics aren't in lyrics form but in drumming which speak volumes because each sound have meanings and now music have change to modern orchestras and even serve as a tools of communications and even connections. One of the amazing part of music is the universality that came with it, every tribes even to the smallest one has their own traditions when it come to music even though they might be different when it come to style of music but have a common purpose which is sharing humans experience in terms of emotions irrespective of the language barriers.
When it come to finding peace in the word, music is one of the powerful tools used in that aspect, let take Social Change for example, there has been music created for the purpose of making change to the world especially when it come to mobilizing and inspiring actions in people, it help in giving voice to those without voice and even give hopes and dreams when it come to equality and seeking justice, I remember this particular some "This Little Light of Mine" which I first heard in a movie Let it shine, then a Reverend in our Boy's Brigade organization do sing it a lot during sermon and checking out the song it was created and improvised by a lady who lost her friends during a protest fight
There are other songs like "We shall Overcome", "Ain't Gonna Let Nobody Turn Me Around" that later serve as anthems during protest/movements for those marching for their civil rights, they aren't just music, they serve as inspirations and bring unity, with the major purpose of reminding people they are part of something way bigger and yet to come. Music also take huge part when it come Conflict Reconciliation and also in healing, the world is always in chaos, there has been war and we all know the aftermath is not something good to talk about, people have been hurt, killed and all. I will make mention of Micheal Jackson song in this aspect "Heal the world"
This songs was create mainly to inspire peace around the world and it was universally accepted because every one love it, it really speak volume especially with the lessons pass across through the lyrics and sounds making the world a better place. At times I do wonder why war do happen in the first place especially among nations, we are humans, we can argue or disagree on stuff but there should be ways to solve all this things without war because even those that have nothing or know anything about the cause will be the one suffering the most, like they say where two elephants are fighting, the grass always suffer (trampled). Music has always been an instrument of peace and will continue to be.
