Saying certain things can sometimes be easy, but accepting that they actually happen can be much more complex. The only thing we can be certain of is death, but imagining it happening to a loved one is not the same as actually experiencing it.
Someone leaves, and life goes on—unless those of us who believe we are alive are actually dead, and those who die go on to true life. It’s all so mysterious that I don’t think any human being can be certain about what this is all about.
Whether we’re alive or dead, those of us left behind must carry on—with a void in our chests, with sad eyes, with millions of questions… Cleaning the house, making breakfast, walking, breathing, moving, feeling, listening to music we like—if we have the heart for it…
Today, while I was doing my household chores, I listened to some soft music to relax—and also to create a cozy atmosphere in case someone special comes to visit me from the afterlife; I think that’s possible. I also sprayed a little air freshener with a pleasant, subtle scent to make myself feel even more at ease amid my sorrows. If we’re feeling sad and our surroundings are in chaos, the negative energy can intensify.
I’ll stay home for the rest of the day; I’ll probably watch one of those movies that speculate on what happens after death—I like those kinds of themes, and right now they bring me comfort, too.
Tomorrow I have to work at the bakery early, so life goes on, almost the same as before—almost.
