There are loads of things that have in one way or another impacted lives positively during their existence but are now gone into extinction, and I'm sure if we were to ask different people what they'd love to bring back to life, we'd hear mind-blowing things from long-lost inventions to animals like dinosaurs or even forgotten cultures or a friend/mentor. If I were to be in the same situation, I've got some things I can possibly bring back, but top on that list isn't related to a creature or a product, but a way of life that I've witnessed. Seeing how people related and supported one another, those were the good old days when community meant everything.

I remember growing up in an age and time when neighbors looked out for each other like family. These were times when a child was not only raised or nurtured by their biological parents alone but by the entire street or community, not like today's world where if you try to correct someone else's child, they'll berate and ridicule you for doing that. I remember how neighbors could easily visit each other's houses to eat and watch movies or football without anyone playing the tribal card or fear of being poisoned. Fast forward to the present day, all of these no longer happen because even family members don't trust each other, not to mention outsiders like neighbors.
Back in the day, I remember how we'd sit outside and surround an elder under the moonlight, who'd share with us tales, stories, and their life experiences to teach us important life lessons and instill some important morals into us. Nowadays, technology has deprived us of that community engagement and interaction because both adults and children of these generations are so glued to their phones to thd point that they don't have time for such gatherings, and that's why I crave such things, and that's why I want to bring back this lost sense of unity and humanity back to our world.

In today's world, everyone is chasing success, money, or survival, making it a fast-paced world. While it's okay to chase all of these things for the good of oneself, family, and the future, in the process of chasing all of these, we've lost a big part of ourselves, which is the joy derived from living a life of simplicity and loving deeply. In the place of empathy, we've put ego, and in the place of community, we've erected unnecessary competition between ourselves and others.
I believe the world would be a better place if we could have such spirit again, one where we have those big aunties who fed every child that visited her home or those uncles in the neighborhood who showed us how to fix things with our hands, not forgetting those lengthy conversations and stories we shared without the distraction that comes from phones and many other things, to name but a few. Having such a lifestyle nowadays will go on to reduce depression, bring about healing, and make the job of parenting safer and easier. Overall, it'll restore that genuine human connection that's lost in our world, because that's one thing money or technology can't buy or replace.
