Following Instinct While Applying Common Sense

Human instinct is their inner gut feeling; it's their mind's opinions or take on different things, which could be on a person, decision-making, or the like. There are lots of people who trust their instincts and whatever they feel about different matters, and to be honest, we can't disregard the fact that instincts can be right on several occasions. But then, at the same time, it can be wrong, especially when mixed with bias or when the instinct is just outrightly wrong, because sometimes our instinct decides based on what we buy, and then we all know the saying that says never judge a book by its cover, meaning our instinct can be wrong at times.

Now to direct a question to me: Do I trust my instincts, and how well do I trust them? To be candid, I do trust my instincts, and it has played a huge part in different decisions I've made in the past, because most of my instincts have usually been right. My instincts are my gut feelings about something or people. And I can remember each time I doubt the legitimacy of something, it always turns out to be, indeed, not legitimate stuff. Take, for instance, when someone was introducing a business to me for me to partner with her; I said no because my instinct didn't feel good about it.

And at the end of the year, when she partnered with someone else, the business ended up crumbling, and they lost most of their investments. I can't help but thank my star for following my instinct and not delving into something that'll end up making me regret it. There have been times I didn't follow my instinct, and I ended up regretting it, because at the end of the day things turned out how my instinct predicted, but I'd taken a different route that made me wish I had followed my instinct.

But then it's worth noting that I don't just follow my instinct blindly. On most occasions when my instinct has an opinion about something, I still use common sense with it; that's exploring the situation or person before reaching a conclusion that'll determine if I'll follow my instinct or let it slide. Doing this has helped me sharpen my instinct to the point where it on its own seems to critically examine things, situations, and a person before giving me its take because it's okay on most occasions and accurate.

Talking about if I let my instinct determine how I see a person, to be honest, yes, I do, but then like I said, even though my instinct tells me something about someone, I'll still move close to try and understand who they actually are and not just let my instinct judge someone, and I'd be damned if it ended up being wrong. If my instinct ended up being wrong, it's not the end of the world; it only shows I'm human and not perfect. I'd just move to the next and be more careful about how I believe or follow my instinct.
