Good day, creative minds on the hive blockchain. It's good to be here among you, and today I'll love to add my creativity to the list of top-notch crafts we see on the hive blockchain on a daily basis. My craft today would be focused on how I made a beautiful pair of palm sandals for a couple to celebrate Valentine's Day. Love, as we all know, is a beautiful thing, and with my craft, I'll be aiding the couple's steps into abundance love this season.

So without further ado, let's get to business and know the step-by-step procedure I took in making this masterpiece for the couple.

Materials needed:

  • Black leather
  • Black lining (male)
  • Nude color lining (female)
  • Scissors
  • Punch tool
  • Eyelet pin
  • Biro
  • Ruler
  • Gum
  • Super glue
  • Fiber and maco (insole)
  • Nora (outsole)

Making the insole and outsole

To make the insole and outsole, first I had to use my scissors to cut the various linings into their foot shape, but with extra inches so I could have space to fold them around the fiber and maco.

The next thing I did was apply gum all over the lining, then let it dry up for some time. Before placing the maco and fiber on it, I let it lay neatly and then folded the extra inch around the fiber and maco.

Designing the straps

To design the straps, I first need to pick up the black leather, use my ruler and biro, sketch out a straight and neat line, and cut it with my scissors before proceeding to the next phrase.

Once that's done, I use the punch tool to make some holes in the straight leather and then attach some eyelet pins to it to join it together with another strap design I cut, and that's how I concluded the strap design.

Lasing (joining) the sole, insole, and straps together

The final phrase of making these palm sandals for this couple involves attaching all the different parts of the palm sandals made above together, and to do this, I first need to get sandpaper to scrub the edge and inner part of the strap and outsole, respectively.

After this, it's time to apply gum to the inner part, attach the strap to the insole, and use a shoelace to adjust for a perfect fit. Once that is done, join the insole to the outsole and apply some super glue to the edge of the inner part of the sole.

That's what brings us to the end of the making of these palm sandals, and here is a picture of how it looks in the end. Although I couldn't take a picture of the one for the man before they came to collect it, they're identical, and the only difference is that that of the husband has a black leather lining while that of the wife has a nude-colored leather lining.Image from thread
