La trama tiene mucho sentido si lo logramos imaginar o ponernos por un momento en esos términos catastróficos. Un mundo que está encontrando la aniquilación sistemática de la humanidad, tal vez por el despropósito de cuidar el planeta y el medio ambiente. Es una de las razones válidas por lo que conocemos a Ethan Whyte, quien tiene proyecciones con su esposa, cuando descubre que está enfermando por completo. ¿Y si pudiera salvar a su esposa pero también la dirección hacia la que se dirige la humanidad?
The plot makes a lot of sense if we can imagine or put ourselves for a moment in those catastrophic terms. A world facing the systematic annihilation of humanity, perhaps due to the failure to take care of the planet and the environment. This is one of the reasons why we get to know Ethan Whyte, who envisions a future with his wife, only to discover that she is falling seriously ill. What if he could save his wife but also alter the course humanity is heading towards?
Las máquinas del tiempo nos hace plantear cómo es posible conectar el presente con algo que está más allá de nuestra percepción de la realidad. Most likely, you, like me, think that only small pieces of matter, or even radio waves, can be transmitted. But would it be possible for a human to reach the other end? Such things unsettle me and make me hallucinate. I really love it.
Todo tiene un sentido cuando conocemos a Richard Whyte, su padre. Todo el diseño de la tecnología se basa en el desarrollo propio de sus ideas, con un objetivo claro, aunque en parte cruel. Por mi parte pensé que se trataba de un científico visionario, totalmente loco, pero que luego de ver parte de la película, las cosas cobran sentido. Ethan hijo, tiene una cosa muy importante que hacer, pero conlleva una responsabilidad tal que podría ser en una forma, el fin para él y para todos.
Eso sí, el viaje hacia el futuro es determinante. Y Ethan se plantea la posibilidad de que haya fallado en su misión para arreglar las cosas. Por suerte, o tal vez no, es acompañado por alguien que le es muy especial, porque lo ha salvado en una situación compleja, porque si no fuese así, estaría muerto. Luego descubrirá que sí tuvo su propia muerte, pero no en la forma en que lo imaginaba, sino en torno a un engaño y ocultamiento, el cual podría de alguna forma volver a repetir por los cambios en el tiempo y la multiplicidad de su propio yo. Esto supone que los lazos afectivos podrían haberse desvinculado por la locura, y es algo que está muy presente en muchas oportunidades, haciendo que la película tenga un buen añadido de tensión y suspenso.
Everything makes sense when we meet Richard Whyte, his father. The whole design of the technology is based on the development of his own ideas, with a clear goal, albeit partly cruel. Initially, I thought of him as a visionary scientist, completely mad, but after seeing part of the movie, things make sense. Ethan, the son, has a very important task to fulfill, but it carries such a responsibility that it could be, in a way, the end for him and for everyone.
The journey towards the future is crucial. And Ethan contemplates the possibility that he may have failed in his mission to set things right. Fortunately, or perhaps not, he is accompanied by someone very special to him, because they saved him in a complex situation, because if it weren't for them, he would be dead. Later, he will discover that he did experience his own death, but not in the way he imagined, but rather around deception and concealment, which could somehow be repeated due to changes in time and the multiplicity of his own self. This implies that emotional ties could have become detached due to madness, and this is something that is very present on many occasions, adding tension and suspense to the movie.
En definitiva, la película nos hace razonar sobre las acciones que hacemos a diario en la manera en que cuidamos nuestro planeta. También puntualiza en lo que nos representa lo vital para sobrevivir en paz y armonía, lo cual luego de ver esta asombrosa película, nos crea cierta conciencia. Por mi parte me encantó. Si bien no está al nivel de Interestellar, es una película que te recomendaría ver al menos una vez. Además no dura mucho.
Ultimately, the movie makes us think about the actions we take daily in the way we take care of our planet. It also emphasizes what is vital for us to survive in peace and harmony, which, after watching this amazing movie, creates a certain awareness in us. I loved it. While it may not be on par with Interstellar, it's a movie I would recommend you to watch at least once. Also, it doesn't last long.
