One of the options that more and more people are considering when making payments is KAST. It’s a fintech company that offers a free virtual card as well as a physical card with no issuance fees. This certainly becomes even more appealing when we learn that it can be used at a large number of merchants because it’s a Visa card.

One of the main attractions is that upon signing up, you’re eligible for cashback, starting at 1.5% (Standard Membership), which can increase if you upgrade your membership tier or take advantage of opportunities where that percentage can multiply dramatically—meaning cashback rewards that can be added to your balance after 14 days.

This 14-day waiting period is necessary for the system to verify that the payments were made legitimately. Cashback generally applies when paying at participating locations, such as supermarkets and hypermarkets. There’s no need to worry, though, since Kast operates in more than 170 countries and at 150 million merchants worldwide.

A fast and reliable app, compatible with your digital wallet

The app’s design is fast and intuitive, ensuring that making payments is incredibly simple. We can use it in different ways, since it’s compatible with Google Wallet, which means we can use the phone’s NFC feature just like a contactless card. What I see as a major advantage is that, since it’s a Visa, you can add it to the most widely used payment system in the country—in my case, MercadoPago. Once you’ve added the card, all you have to do is scan the QR code from your preferred app and select the KAST virtual card. After the payment is approved, you’ll instantly receive that much-anticipated cashback, proportional to the amount you’ve paid.

How to Fund Your Wallet

One important point is how easily we can fund the wallet. The standard method is to send funds via crypto networks. In that case, we can transfer USDT or USDC through a wide variety of networks, such as Solana, Binance Smart Chain, Arbitrum (my favorite), Ethereum, and others. This gives us enormous flexibility, as network fees can be drastically reduced. Bank transfers are also an option, though we’ll need to set that up in advance to lay the groundwork.

Once we have the funds, we’ll see them in the main balance, listed in USD. The system handles the conversion automatically, so we don’t need to worry when making payments; we’ll be charged in USD, but we’ll see the equivalent amount in our local currency.

Card Activation and Design

Activating the card is an extremely simple process. It involves a KYC verification that I’d consider fairly non-intrusive, but which is necessary for any app of this kind. It took me less than 10 minutes, and so far, I haven’t run into any issues.

When you start, you can choose from four very stylish designs, but here’s a tip: If you opt for the Pengu Card, you might be able to participate in certain collaborations that pop up from time to time. In fact, I managed to claim an NFT that already makes me part of the community.

Memberships: Beyond the Standard

The cards above the Standard tier offer even greater rewards, but they require an annual membership fee of $1,000 USD or $10,000 USD. In these cases, the benefits are 2% and 3% cashback, and 1% and 2% KAST points on all purchases, respectively. With all three membership tiers, users can request a free physical and virtual card, though I assume there is a shipping fee.

Simple and Secure Transfers

When it comes to transfers, we once again find an effective design. You can send money to a contact simply by using their tag or scanning their QR code. While this is very convenient, there are also other options available, such as using a link or making payments via bank transfer (again, you must accept the terms and conditions for this).

What I think is great are the transaction limits. Whether it’s a chain transfer, per-user transfer, or bank transfer, the limit is set at 5,000 USD per day, but for card transaction limits, the limit is much higher. Ideally, you should adjust these settings so that the system will decline the transaction in the event of a fraudulent purchase; the system will then reject the transaction.

Earn Extra by Inviting Friends

Finally, we have one more opportunity: the chance to invite friends. We always have necessary or weekly expenses that we need to cover. So why not take advantage of the situation to earn some extra cash? Kast offers an innovative system where, if you spend at least $100 USD over a certain number of days, you’ll receive a $20 USD reward that you can use later when shopping at participating merchants. The more you spend, the greater the rewards you’ll earn, so I’d definitely consider always paying with Kast—you’ll always earn cashback. Whether it’s for regular household purchases or maybe treating yourself to a new appliance, you’ll see a little extra at the end of the day. Add to that the extra $20 you can earn when you meet that spending goal, and the math adds up on its own: if you’re already in the crypto world and looking to get a return on your spending, KAST seems like an excellent option to add to your wallet right now.
