Hola, mi nombre es Wara y es mi primera vez escribiendo en esta comunidad, hoy quiero contarles la primera experiencia que tuve probando una plataforma P2P.

Yo ingresé a web3 desde el año 2022 aproximadamente, pero hasta el momento no había probado ninguna de estas aplicaciones, quizá por temor e inexperiencia, pero también porque no tenía la necesidad.

Pero ahora gracias a un reto que me pusieron decidí aprender por mi cuenta porque, si no, ¿cómo puedo aprender?, además de que tenía mucha curiosidad porque siempre vi que hablaban bastante de esta app y parecía ser muy fácil de usar.

Si bien conozco la parte “teórica” de cómo funciona, qué hacer y porqué, es muy distinto cuando ya vas a la parte práctica y esta vez me ayude con el buen ChatGPT jeje.

Entonces empecé con la prueba, y si estoy hablando de El Dorado, como les contaba a esta plataforma la escuché mencionar muchas veces por personas cercanas a mí, en varias comunidades y hasta ya la tenía descargada en mi celular, pero nunca la usé.

Primero, porque antes no está habilitado para mi país, Bolivia y otro porque el miedo y que aún no tenía esa necesidad. Entonces yo ya había hecho todo el primer paso de registrarse y realizar el famoso KYC, algo que sí sabía hacer, porque en la mayoría de aplicaciones centralizadas debes sacarle foto a tu documento de identidad y a tu cara.

En fin, obviamente que para probar tenía que fondear la cuenta y créanlo o no fue un paso algo complicado para mí, porque intenté por varios medios, pero me salía errores como que la dirección no es correcta o no se puede.

Sí, me frustré porque no podía hacerlo y eso con ayuda de chatgpt hasta que se me ocurrió otra forma de hacerlo, como dicen todos los caminos llevan a Roma jeje. Entonces decidí enviarme desde otra wallet, pero ahí me fijé en algo interesante, por ejemplo, que debes enviarte sí o sí en USDT y puede ser en la blockchain de Tron o Arbitrum que es la que permitía.

La primera opción no fue valida porque la comisión era casi el doble entonces lo que hice fue cambiar USDT en Arbitrum para luego enviarme de esa billetera a mi cuenta de El Dorado, sí fue toda una serie de pasos que seguí y me ideé para hacerlo jeje pero al menos logré mi fin, fondear mi cuenta.

Por todo este proceso decidí hacer un video para contar lo que había pasado, si bien lo hice más resumido ahora puedo acompañar este post para que quizá otros como yo que están en la misma situación puedan intentar estos caminos.

Lo que si noté es que cambio mucho la aplicación desde que la descargué, hasta el logo. Pero ahora el diseño y la dinámica en general me parece más llamativa e incluso más amigable porque pusieron varias funciones y servicios más acordes a los usuarios y además que se expandió a más países.

Pero eso trataré de revisarlo más a detalle en un posterior post.

¿Qué aprendí de esta experiencia?

Con esta experiencia no quiero decir que la pasé mal o le doy una baja calificación a la app, sino todo lo contrario, me ayudó a entender mucho mejor cómo es el movimiento por detrás, y aprender de mis errores.

Además, entendí que muchas veces el problema no es la tecnología, sino el miedo inicial que tienen los nuevos usuarios. Como yo que ya tenía la app, pero nunca me animé a probarla al menos por curiosidad.

Y eso es lo que siempre pasa en web3, muchos creen que solo se trata de criptos, estafas, robos y demás, pero va mucho más allá. Yo entré a este ecosistema por la educación, conocer nuevas tecnologías y también por las comunidades que se forman.

Quizá varios tuvieron malas experiencias, pero lo interesante es que ellos te comparten lo que deberías o no deberías hacer al usar una nueva aplicación, al ingresar a nuevos proyectos, a conocer nuevas comunidades.

Es el proceso que siempre se sigue cuando uno es nuevo en cualquier cosa, pero el punto no es quedarse ahí sin hacer nada, la idea es que aprendas, mejores, desarrolles tus habilidades y, si así lo deseas, crear tu propio proyecto.

Otro consejo que les dejo es siempre investigar antes de hacer nada, consultar en las comunidades, revisar las noticias, si vas a probar una app nueva que sean con montos pequeños y tener buenas prácticas de ciberseguridad, esto les ayudará bastante a no cometer errores durante su camino en web3.

I’ve been involved with web3 since around 2022, but until now I hadn’t tried any of these apps—maybe out of fear and inexperience, but also because I didn’t have a need for them.

But now, thanks to a challenge I was given, I decided to learn on my own because, otherwise, how else would I learn? Plus, I was really curious because I always heard people talking a lot about this app, and it seemed very easy to use.

So I started with the test, and if I’m talking about El Dorado—as I was telling you—I’d heard people close to me mention this platform many times, in various communities, and I’d even already downloaded it on my phone but never used it.

First, because it wasn’t available in my country, Bolivia, and second, because of fear and the fact that I didn’t have that need yet. So I had already completed the first step of signing up and doing the famous KYC, something I knew how to do, because in most centralized apps you have to take a photo of your ID and your face.

Anyway, obviously, to test it out, I had to fund the account, and believe it or not, that was a bit of a hassle for me, because I tried several different ways, but I kept getting errors saying the address was incorrect or that it wasn't possible.

Yeah, I got frustrated because I couldn’t do it, even with ChatGPT’s help, until I figured out another way to do it—as they say, all roads lead to Rome, haha. So I decided to send it from another wallet, but that’s when I noticed something interesting: for example, you absolutely have to send it in USDT, and it can be on the Tron or Arbitrum blockchain—those were the ones allowed.

The first option wasn’t viable because the fee was almost double, so what I did was exchange USDT on Arbitrum and then send it from that wallet to my El Dorado account. Yeah, it was a whole series of steps I followed and figured out on my own, haha, but at least I achieved my goal: funding my account.

Because of this whole process, I decided to make a video to explain what had happened. Although I kept it brief, I’m now including it with this post so that others in the same situation as me might try these methods.

What I did notice is that the app has changed a lot since I downloaded it—even the logo. But now the design and overall user experience seem more appealing and even more user-friendly to me because they’ve added several features and services that are better suited to users, and it’s also expanded to more countries.

But I’ll try to go over that in more detail in a later post.

What did I learn from this experience?

By this experience, I don’t mean that I had a bad time or that I’m giving the app a low rating—quite the opposite. It helped me understand much better how things work behind the scenes and learn from my mistakes.

I also realized that often the problem isn’t the technology, but the initial fear that new users have. Like me—I already had the app but never got around to trying it, even out of curiosity.

And that’s what always happens with Web3: many people think it’s just about crypto, scams, theft, and the like, but it goes far beyond that. I entered this ecosystem for the education, to learn about new technologies, and also for the communities that form.

Maybe some of you have had bad experiences, but the interesting thing is that they share with you what you should and shouldn’t do when using a new app, joining new projects, or getting to know new communities.

It’s the process you always go through when you’re new to anything, but the point isn’t to just stay there doing nothing—the idea is for you to learn, improve, develop your skills, and, if you want, create your own project.

Another piece of advice I’d like to share is to always do your research before taking any action, consult with communities, and stay up to date on the news. If you’re going to try a new app, start with small amounts and practice good cybersecurity habits—this will go a long way toward helping you avoid mistakes as you navigate the world of Web3.
