Tiredness
Today, I’m completely exhausted. The reason? Last night, I played a mini-game in Wakfu and got carried away with a long farming session. At first, I thought I’d only play for a little while. But, as often happens when you start playing, time flew by without me noticing.
In this mini-game, you can choose to become a farmer. The goal is to gather different resources and then sell them to crafters, who use them to make equipment for the fighters. It’s a way to take part in the game without spending all your time battling.
That’s good, because I don’t really enjoy fighting. I do the bare minimum to gain the levels I need to unlock new areas, where the resources are more interesting to gather. Once I’ve unlocked those places, I can focus on what I enjoy most: planting, harvesting, and filling my inventory with resources.
You also have to be careful to keep the environment balanced. You can’t just plant everything, harvest everything, or kill all the animals without thinking. You need to leave enough behind for nature to recover and for the different species to reproduce. It makes farming a little more thoughtful: you have to find the right balance between gathering what you need and preserving resources for later.
At first, I told myself I’d only play for a little while and gather a few things. Then I kept going, again and again. I wanted to finish one small task, then start another, and before I knew it, I’d lost track of the time. In the end, I played until three in the morning!
Getting up this morning was hard. I was tired, I struggled to concentrate, and I slightly regretted staying up so late. I think I might be getting too old to spend entire nights playing video games… even if, at the time, it seemed like a great idea.
That said, it’s not something I do every day. Every now and then, it’s nice to unwind, play at my own pace, and enjoy some time to myself. With music playing in the background, time passes even faster—perhaps a little too fast! Next time, I’ll try to keep an eye on the clock… and stop before three in the morning.
