Dos Caminos is one of those little towns where there is nothing to look for unless you have family there to visit. That is precisely what my mother and I did this weekend. Every so often, whenever life and transportation allow, my mother goes to visit her aunts and I accompany her. It is true that it is not a place to go as a tourist, however beauty is everywhere if you know how to look carefully.

To get to the town you have to walk about 2 kilometers from the highway or get into one of the cars that serve as taxis. Right on this stretch there is a bridge that rises over the central lines of the Cuban railroad.

In addition, you can see on the sides of the road how houses of different finishes have been built. However, in most of them there is a space reserved for planting food or flowers and raising animals. The gardens are an almost characteristic sign of the homes in this town, many can be considered mini botanical gardens.

Dos Caminos is just 20 kilometers from the city of Santiago de Cuba, but due to transportation difficulties and the fact that agriculture is its main economic source, it has more similarities to the intricate villages of the Sierra Maestra than to an urban population.

I hope you enjoy these images that I took during the trip.
