Este fin de semana nos fuimos a visitar a mi suegro después de haber ido a la iglesia, mi hijo lamentablemente no pudo ir porque estaba trabajando, pero nos fuimos mi hija, mi esposo y yo a visitar ya que teníamos tiempo que por lo menos nosotras no lo veíamos, aunque mi esposo si ya que el siemlre va a estar pendiente de él, aprovechamos que en casa no había luz para salir.
Cuando íbamos en vía lo encontramos en un lugar en la vía donde venden sopa desde costilla, gallina y mondongo, es un lugar que ya habíamos ido pero teníamos mucho tiempo que no habíamos vuelto más de año y medio, cuando nos devolvemos para buscar suegro el nos invito a comer sopa, yo aproveche ya que amo la sopa y sobre todo la de mondongo, es algo que no lo puedo evitar me trae ricos recuerdos de mi madre, ella hacía el mejor del mundo.
Mi suegro comió mondongo, mi hoja pidió de costilla, mi esposo un cruzado y yo bueno ya se los dije, mi favorito el mondongo, lo bueno de que mi hijo no fuera es que el no come sopa, ni siquiera la que preparamos en casa, aprovechamos de pasar un buen rato y con un rico jugo de papelón con limón y la buena música de fondo, la música nacional de Venezuela, música llanera para dar una sensación de estar en otro lugar, lo cual lo logra pues el ambiente al aire libre ayuda mucho y aunque estamos a orilla de una vía, del otro lado un pequeño parque y grama que le da otra vista.
Los compartir improvisados son de los mejores, algo que no se planeo pero salió muy bien, luego de este gran plato de sopa, quedé tan full o quedamos así que llegamos a casa del suegro y nos dormimos un rato, hasta que la luz nos despertó y nos fuimosuegl todos a la sala a terminar de pasar un rico día de descanso y compartir en familia.

It’s a place we’d been to before, but it had been a long time since we’d been back—more than a year and a half. When we turned around to pick up my father-in-law, he invited us to have some soup. I jumped at the chance since I love soup, especially tripe soup; it’s something I just can’t resist—it brings back fond memories of my mother; she made the best in the world.
My father-in-law had tripe, my sister-in-law ordered ribs, my husband had a cruzado, and as for me—well, I already told you—my favorite is tripe. The good thing about my son not being there is that he doesn’t eat soup, not even the kind we make at home. We took the opportunity to have a good time with a delicious sugarcane juice with lemon and great music in the background—Venezuelan folk music, llanera music—to give us the feeling of being somewhere else, which it does because the outdoor setting helps a lot, and even though we’re right next to a road, on the other side there’s a small park and grass that gives it a different view.
These impromptu get-togethers are the best—something that wasn’t planned but turned out great. After that big bowl of soup, I was so full—actually, we all were—that when we got to my father-in-law’s house, we took a nap until the sunlight woke us up. Then we all went to the living room to finish enjoying a wonderful day of rest and family time.
