"Life is a gift from God"
yolimarag

I’ve always believed that life is a gift from heaven and that we’re privileged to be born and come into this world, because life is beautiful if we look at it with the right perspective. From a young age, we’ve seen how the arrival of a new life brings joy to the family—especially to the parents, who welcome this new life to bring them joy and happy moments.

In other cases, there are people who do not want to bring children into the world but do not take the necessary steps to prevent this from happening. They have sex but do not take precautions to avoid having children, and in these cases, after facing the consequences, they decide to have an abortion to solve their problem.

This is where I disagree with abortion. Many of these people may be young and lack the maturity to face this unexpected situation; many are brave and choose to have their baby, but others don’t feel the same way, and perhaps their immaturity leads them to make that mistake—without realizing that a child is a blessing from heaven and that what may seem like a problem today will be the blessing of their lives tomorrow.

I don’t agree with abortion because God is the one who gives life, and only He can take it away. It’s true that we humans are masters of our own lives, but we shouldn’t interfere with the life of another person or someone who is still developing—in this case, not a newborn, but a fetus. I think that if people don’t want the baby, they should put it up for adoption; it’s better for the baby.

On the other hand, I’ve also heard of people who’ve had abortions because their children were born with disabilities. It’s hard to make a choice here—it all depends on the type of disability. Life isn’t easy, and it’s even harder for a baby born with disabilities. Of course, God has a purpose for everything, but in this case, I think that even though it’s a life, depending on the disability, a person might choose to have an abortion. It’s hard to know what to do, but I do think it would only be done in this specific case.

It’s not up to us to decide about a life. I have great faith in God, and I know it’s not right. Maybe I’m wrong on that last point, because I know someone who has no arms or legs and is a great speaker—that makes me doubt. But what I do know is that we have no right to decide for a life.
