Ayer estuvimos celebrando el 49 aniversario de una de las instituciones mas emblemáticas de la ciudad de Barquisimeto. La ocasión se prestó para suspender las actividades académicas y concentrar al personal obrero, administrativos, docente y estudiantes para poder cantar cumpleaños y celebrar durante la mañana de ese día tan significante para todos.

Yesterday we celebrated the 49th anniversary of one of the most iconic institutions in the city of Barquisimeto. The occasion provided an opportunity to suspend academic activities and bring together the support staff, administrative staff, faculty, and students to sing “Happy Birthday” and celebrate throughout the morning of that day, which was so meaningful to everyone.

La mañana se dividió en dos grupos. Se convocó a los estudiantes de básica para celebrar a las 8 de la mañana hasta aproximadamente pasadas las 9 am, el ciclo diversificado se convocó para las 10 am y estuvieron hasta un poco mas de las 12 del mediodía. El ambiente estuvo bastante tranquilo y se cumplió de forma regular la planificación.

The morning was divided into two groups. Elementary school students were scheduled to gather at 8 a.m. and stay until approximately 9 a.m., while middle school students were scheduled to gather at 10 a.m. and stay until a little past 12 noon. The atmosphere was quite calm, and the schedule was followed as planned.

Cada sección debía organizarse para traer las tortas, cuando iban llegando, fue toda una sensación. Cada una mejor que la otra, una oportunidad ideal para que las reposteras de la zona se destacaran.

Each section had to organize itself to bring out the cakes, and when they started arriving, it was quite a sensation. Each one was better than the last—an ideal opportunity for local bakers to showcase their talents.

Me di la oportunidad de acercarme a los estudiantes a los que he atendido durante mi estancia en el liceo para fotografiarlos y guardar un recuerdo grafico. Por experiencia se que crecen demasiado rápido y es a veces necesario guardad una evidencia de sus rostros en estos primeros años de vida. Luego cuando se les muestra cuando se gradúan, hasta ellos mismo quedan sorprendidos, ni hablar de los representantes y demás.

I took the opportunity to reach out to the students I’ve worked with during my time at the high school to take their pictures and preserve a visual memory. From experience, I know they grow up way too fast, and it’s sometimes necessary to capture their faces during these early years of life. Then, when you show them the photos after they graduate, even they are surprised—not to mention their parents and others.

El patio central fue la primera concentración, luego cada sección pasó a sus salones y, si había alguna programación particular, entonces debían aprovechar cada quien para desarrollarla dentro de su aula asignada.

The central courtyard was the first gathering place; then each section went to its classrooms, and if there were any special activities scheduled, everyone was to carry them out in their assigned classrooms.

Bastante fresco el compartir, se cumplieron los tiempos y los muchachos y todo el personal tuvieron la oportunidad para compartir y compartir experiencias al margen del ámbito educativo, que es bastante fundamental para acercar las distancias entre todos los protagonistas del proceso de enseñanza y aprendizaje.

It was really nice to get together; the schedule went according to plan, and the students and the entire staff had the opportunity to interact and share experiences outside the educational setting, which is essential for building closer relationships among everyone involved in the teaching and learning process.
