I hear people saying this a lot, that money is a spirit, fine sometimes money comes to us when we least expect it, then some people spend it lavishly and just assume that money is a spirit.
I've also heard many Nigerians saying "I've seen money before, the kind of money I've seen before if I'd used it for something better then I would have been a wealthy man now". Then what happened?
I had an uncle, growing up my siblings and I would go to his house on Christmas day, he would dash us plenty of money, and he would also send some to my mother, and we'd be like wow this our uncle is very rich, the best part of it is he studied accountancy and works in the state treasury house, I was super proud of him and always wished to be like him.
After a while, I started hearing things weren't too good with him anymore, I was surprised because he had a lot of money back then when you see his family you will know money is talking, the expensiveness running in their body, so how come he has gone broke all of a sudden? What happened?

I've met certain people who will say at a particular age I touched money but too bad I didn't know how to spend the money then, I only spent it on clothes, jewelry, hanging out with friends, traveling to different states within the country just to have fun, one mentioned he even bought a car but couldn't maintain it so he had to sell it out. Then I asked them how come they weren't able to do anything with it then, what happened to all the money, they were speechless, they couldn't keep track of how the money was spent.
What happened?
I know how money can be, sometimes when you don't have the money you'll have so many good plans for it but when it finally comes you lavish it for immediate satisfaction, so they just tag money as a spirit.
What happened is the mismanagement of funds, no budgeting, no financial plans, and no goals, remember proper budgeting of funds can result in achieving a great financial goal. It is not a bad thing to have fun but track your spending habits, or better still apply the "need and want policy" We must know our money priority, and know what is needed at the moment.
Most people forget the future and think just of the present, there is a popular saying "Na wetin you eat go you follow go" we all know that but it doesn't mean we should not plan for the future, what if you live longer than expected what comes next.
So money isn't a spirit, it is our spirit that is disturbing the money, once we have small money our spirit will not allow the money to rest till it is finished then our eyes will open colored with a red marker. Finances mismanaged can seem hard to replace. I know not all of us are business-oriented, no matter how we do it we can't run a business, but believe me, with or without a business we can still be successful with our finances.
