This isn't the usual pancakes everyone knows though it looks like it.
In my area, this is called "diet", what differentiates it from the usual pancakes everyone knows is the addition of fresh pepper and onions.

In my own case, I added ripe bananas just to make it a little bit different and also a little more healthier.
This recipe isn't just sweet , spicy and creamy but also it has great aromatic flavors that will keep you hooked.

Here are the ingredients that I used

Ingredients needed

  • 2 cups of flour
  • 2 pieces of ripe banana
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 4 tablespoons of sugar
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 large onion
  • 12 pieces of fresh pepper
  • 1 cup of groundnutoil
  • 2 sachet of non dairy milk
  • Enough water.

How to make

This recipe is almost the same with pancakes, the only difference is the quantity of pepper, onion and oil used , which will also add more nice and spicy taste.

I began by washing and slicing my veggies, I started with my onion . I washed and sliced it into tiny cubes because is my choice but those who don't like onion would prefer to blend .

Then I sliced my pepper too. You can also blend or pound roughly but I was in the mood of slicing ,so I decided to slice.

My banana was ripe but not overripe. It was just the perfect texture that I wanted.
I sliced it into tiny round shapes

Now all the ingredients are ready and it's time to mix everything together before frying them.

I mixed all the dry ingredients together, I mixed the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt together inside a bowl.

I added enough water , the mixture was a little bit watery, not thick .

I proceeded to adding my onions, pepper and ripe bananas.
Using a spoon, I stirred the mixture together, I also smashed some of the banana with the spoon, leaving the rest round and beautiful.

Now everything is well combined and is time to fry them.

Like I said earlier, the quantity of oil is one of the things that differentiate this recipe from pancakes.
Here you need more oil to fry this but not shallow fry and not too much dry fry.

I added 3 tablespoons of oil each while frying each piece and I fried it one after the other.

When the down side was ready, I flipped it ,and fried the other side

I continued with this process until I was done with the entire mixture then I served.

Result

My diet has both sweet, creamy and spicy taste and it's just perfect for dessert.
The banana was responsible for the sweet taste.
When I say sweet, I mean sweet and incredible flavor.
The milk was responsible for it's creamy taste while the pepper give it that spicy , loving taste that I desired.

When I served my husband, the first thing he gave compliment to ,was the sweet and aromatic flavors of banana , it reminded him of a particular dish,oh wait I don't want to move into another topic,so let's continue.
