Welcome back to Part 4 of my Resident Evil Code: Veronica no-commentary walkthrough!
This episode gives us one of the most emotional and memorable moments in the early part of the game. Claire is in serious danger when a terrifying long-armed mutant attacks, but Steve Burnside arrives just in time to save her. It is a great moment for Steve, showing that beneath his sarcasm and nervous attitude, he is willing to risk himself to protect Claire.
For a brief moment, we also get to play as Steve. This change of perspective makes the following events feel even more personal. Soon, Steve is forced to confront a devastating truth: his own father has become a zombie because of the T-Virus outbreak.
It is a sad scene that reveals how much pain this nightmare has caused. The enemies in Resident Evil are not always just monsters; sometimes they were people with families, memories, and lives before Umbrella’s experiments destroyed everything.
Meanwhile, Claire and Steve continue searching through Rockfort Island, solving puzzles, facing deadly creatures, and uncovering more clues about the Ashford family.
