Dinner is all about setting aside the day's fatigue and spending quality time together with the family. And when the meal features something delicious and piping hot, cooked with one's own hands, it becomes truly special. Last night, we shared just such a wonderful moment when I cooked chicken curry for everyone.

The decision to cook was spontaneous, so I set to work using the basic spices I had at home. I started by sautéing onions, ginger, and garlic thoroughly, then added the right amounts of turmeric, cumin, and chili powders. Once the aroma of the spices filled the air, I added the washed chicken pieces. To ensure the chicken cooked through and absorbed all the flavors, I simmered it covered over a low flame for a good while. Once the meat began to release oil, I added a little hot water and some whole aromatic spices, letting it all come to a boil. Finally, I garnished the dish with freshly chopped coriander leaves. Oh, the aroma was exquisite—it wafted through the entire house.

We all sat down to eat around ten o'clock. Serving the chicken curry alongside steaming hot rice seemed to instantly double everyone's appetite. The chicken pieces were incredibly tender, and the gravy was packed with flavor; the spice balance was spot-on, so everyone enjoyed it thoroughly. It wasn't just about the food; the laughter, conversation, and stories shared between bites made our dining table a truly joyful place.

Good food does more than just fill the stomach; it uplifts the spirit. When family members enjoy a home-cooked meal with such satisfaction, the cook’s fatigue simply vanishes, replaced by a profound sense of peace and contentment. This simple home-cooked dinner and the joy of sharing it with loved ones felt like a slice of pure happiness. It is these small moments that become life's cherished memories. After all, at the end of the day, the company of family and a good meal are what matter most.
