Today, I had to travel a long way by bus for a special need of the office. Usually, while traveling by bus, I avoid eating open food or buying food from street vendors. Due to the dust and unhealthy environment on the road, these foods are often not suitable for consumption. However, today's journey brought me a different experience.

During the journey, amidst the intense heat, I suddenly noticed an elderly man selling ice cream in the bus with a flask of ice cream in his hand. Seeing his effort in white beard and simple clothes, my heart felt good and heavy at the same time. At this end of his life, where he should be resting, he is working hard and earning a living without being a burden to his family.

Out of curiosity and sympathy, I called him closer and asked about him. He told me that he and his wife live together. His children do not look after him or take care of him, so even at this age, he has to struggle as the only earning member of the family.

Hearing these words, I felt a kind of pain inside. At that time, I had no particular desire to eat ice cream, but I bought a custard malai ice cream from him. I ate the ice cream with great satisfaction, because this small purchase might help his family a little.

This form of hard work and self-respect is truly heartwarming. When we see such self respecting people in society, each of us should stand by them. Our little cooperation can become a great hope in their difficult days.
