I am professionally associated with the ATM sector and as an engineer, I have to constantly service and maintain various types of ATM machines. Along with this work, we also have to work with POS machines of various companies. These technology-based machines have made business transactions much easier and faster.

Nowadays, the use of POS machines is increasing day by day in various shops, shopping malls and business establishments. Customers can easily make transactions using cards or other digital methods through these machines. As a result, the hassle of carrying cash is reduced and shopping time is also saved a lot. On the other hand, traders can also complete transactions very easily. Therefore, keeping these machines functional is an important part of our work.

Anyway, today I went to service a POS machine. When I went there, I found out that there was a problem with the machine's receipt printer. Even though the customers completed the transaction, the required receipt was not being printed. This is a very important problem in the case of a POS machine, because receipts are necessary for both the customer and the trader after the transaction.

After checking the problem, I carefully observed the printer part. Then I opened the printer part where the receipt comes out and started cleaning it. After completing the necessary cleaning work, I cleaned the part thoroughly using ISO. Then I reconnected everything properly and tested the machine.

It took me about thirty to forty minutes to complete this servicing work. When I checked again after finishing the work, the printer started working normally and the problem of printing receipts was also solved.

The best thing is that after the problem was solved, the concerned company got their POS machine back in working condition. Now they will be able to conduct transactions as usual as before and there will be no unnecessary suffering in the shopping of customers.

For me, the best part of the engineering profession is solving a problem using my skills and experience and making the work of others easier. Every servicing job creates an opportunity to learn something new. In this way, I am fulfilling my professional duties by using my daily experience and technical skills.
