While passing along the road, one’s gaze is drawn to a group of powerful, yellow heavy-duty machines resting silently on the side. Covered in mud and dust, these bulldozers and excavators seem to be taking a respite after a lifetime of toil. They lie neglected, exposed to the scorching sun and pouring rain.
At first glance, a large Komatsu bulldozer catches the eye. Its massive iron blade, once capable of moving mountains of earth, is now completely rusted. Nearby, a Caterpillar excavator sits in a similar state; the tarpaulin covering it is torn, and it bears the unmistakable marks of neglect.
As I move closer to take a second photograph, I focus on the bulldozer's massive blade. The layers of rust and caked mud bear witness to the grueling work it once performed. The engine grille and headlights are shrouded in dust, and the tracks are embedded deep in the mud. These machines, which once roared and shook the very ground around them, now stand in absolute silence.
The third image captures the surrounding environment. Shops and power lines line the road, indicating a bustling area. People go about their daily lives, while these mechanical giants lie abandoned in a corner. Who knows if they are stalled due to mechanical failure or simply discarded?
Seeing these earth-moving machines in such a state creates a sense of emptiness. When the very instruments of development and construction fall into disuse, it feels like the end of an era. They serve human needs, only to be cast aside and neglected once their utility has passed. They may no longer roar with engine power, but they remain silent witnesses to the passage of time. The story of this neglected instrument is not one of heroism; rather, it belongs to the quiet moments of my solitude. I feel that nothing is permanent. It evokes deep reflection and brings many thoughts to mind.
