About half a year ago, we introduced the FreeCompliments Community’s Threads Engagement Contest, which offered people who used the #freecompliments tag to win Premium InLeo subscriptions for providing high-quality threads, provided that the #freecompliments tag remained in the top 3 tags. This contest was created during a time when Premium subscriptions were being given away on a promotional basis, and I was able to arrange for sponsored subscriptions.
Unfortunately, the sponsored subscriptions have come to an end. I confirmed this with one of the InLeo staff members, Eric (@anomadsoul).
I still want to continue this contest, so I’m going to make an adjustment which I can currently afford.
Adjustment to the Contest
Now, we’ll reward a single Premium Subscription to the top user of the #freecompliments tag every month that the #freecompliments tag remains #1 throughout the course of the entire month. While this is a reduction from the previous prizes, I find it to be a reasonable balance between affordability and still permitting people the opportunity to participate in the contest.
To compensate for this change, I’m starting my counting of this month’s tag position a little bit later (we had one or two days towards the beginning of September that it was #2 – I’m discarding those!). With this adjustment, we will have a winner for the month of September!
Conclusion
While we have lost the sponsorship for Premium subscriptions, I would still like to keep this contest going, so I’ll personally fund one Premium subscription every month, as long as the #freecompliments tag remains at #1 the entire month. Hopefully this still serves as enough incentive for our members to continue fighting to be a winner!
