Matt took a bit risk after he jump in front of Fisk to safe him and is now recovering for the bullet he took to the shoulder, lucky him it was not directly to the chest so he was not hurting that bad but that's the cool thing about Daredevil he loves pain and can fight even though he is hurting bad, remember how he got all those knifes to the body when fighting Bullseye on episode one. Episode 9 data dump why Vanessa wanted Foggy dead, Matt was right about Foggy was celebrating that night because he had a case that would shine light on a port area called Red Hook where Vanessa has been laundering and trafficking for Fisk while he was away, by that time Pointdexter (Bullseye) was retain at some sort of mental health facility all fked up high on pills to the point he couldn't function properly so Vanessa got him out of there with the condition he killed Foggy for her, most like Fisk put him there but I'm not sure about that.
Fisk wanted to manipulate the shooting incident and put it on context that the entire city was under attack and order a black out to unleash his task force to hunt every vigilante in the city, he was hoping to caught Daredevil out of guard while he was at the hospital sending Duck one of his associates to finish him but they don't know about Matt's super hearing. At this point there is no one at the city that can stand against Fisk, from inside or outside the government, so he is full blown Kingpin mode. Fisk also sat down with Vanessa and let her know about Foggy, he knew it was here all this time and told her it was fine because with the Red Hook project he is running they could now launder and traffic billions of dollars with him as a mayor.

The episode also finally brought back Karen Page, who had been absent for most of the entire season after Foggy was killed and she was part of the reason Matt put down the suit and she was also the one who kinda put him back on it after she gave him the missing horn of his suit after the fight with Bullseye. Her return adds an emotional touch to the episode as to boost Matt confidence for what he is trying to do, but not only she serve as a boost to Matt but also got Frank to get out of his cave and protect Matt when he was at his apartment surrounded by the task force. The finale doesn't just work as a conclusion to this season's story but also sets up numerous options for the future including the formation of Daredevil's "army" to combat Fisk's dictatorship like control over New York City. While the season as a whole had its ups and downs, this finale shows that when the series double down into what made the original series great with complex characters, brutal action and street fight, it can still be a great story telling, that's the exact package we got on episode 9.
What everyone is talking about is the action scenes and what is best that it was not just the scene at Matt's apartment with Daredevil and The Punisher putting the hammer down for every task force member that went up there, this is probably without a doubt the most violent scene I have scene come out of MCU production, I really cant think of any other but things didn't stop there because then we got The Punisher showing his true character still full of rage and pain so he decided to go after Fisk and Taks Force alone to Red Hook, with that classic suicide wish style of life, that fight was brutal too. The fight scenes on this final episode and the amount of violence through the entire season was like someone though of it in purpose, lets not go full gas the entire season, lets save some to blow up their minds and empty the tank on the very last episode.
Even though the scene were Comissioner Gallo was killed by the very hands of Fisk was probably the shortest action scene but it was shocking how Fisk crush his jaw and his skull with his very own hands, we finally have him show his physical strength, it was very clever how the series at first had him eating healthy and he been kinda tame down trying to be a mayor but now that he is full Kingpin mode he is back eating as usually. Episode 8 shows Fisk pealing off his true nature, showing the Kingpin way of doing business while episode 9 show us how of a savage he can be and using the Task Force as their own mercenary army, they not just "protecting" the city anymore, if by protecting also means doing what ever Fisk says even though if its illegal like how they killing innocent people looting and then saying it was a vigilante, every beast on this episode was let loose.

Now that season one is over I think I got use to the way the story develops, sometimes a bit slow, lots of injustice, taking down secondary villains down very fast, after all Fisk is still the main target so every other villain is temporary. No only the episode does great for the ending of the series over all, but the episode ending does great too with a cliffhanger where Daredevil is out number and decides to take Karen advice and back down, after all Matt hasn't recover yet, Fisk has already eliminated all official opposition to his rule. The murder of Commissioner Gallo removes the last major roadblock within the NYPD and having locked up some of the political rivals like Jack Duquesne, Swordsman; ensures that Fisk's control expands beyond the police department, he is taking over the city and using Read Hook as his head quarter. Its almost like he knew about Vanessa killing Foggy all this time and her relationship with Red Hook, reason why he also decided to develop his project as mayor right on the same place as it falls outside of the city jurisdiction almost like their personal state, making it the perfect base for Fisk's criminal operations.
The post credits scene showing Frank, The Punisher; breaking the arm of a guard, it just obvious at some point he is going to escape, Punisher is not the type of character waiting for the shinning armor hero to rescue him, keeping his character active for the second season. Fisk's decision to keep Frank alive instead of killing him seems like a miscalculation, one that will likely come back to bite his ass. There has been rumors that at some point the MCU will bring Frank with his own Punisher series but for sure he will be part of Daredevil Born Again Season 2 and will team up with Daredevil for another take on bring down Fisk and his criminal empire.
There are other aspects and rumors that got me a bit excited depending how the series decides to develop, there is a hint Daredevil is going to build his "army", does this means he going to bring back The Defenders? with Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Jessica Jones, is the hole squat coming back? but there is more than that. The bigger question is why did Frank help Karen? does he has feelings for her? because the episode really never mention why, all Frank said "..you ask me for a favor and I help" that's not a you owe me but I'm here for you.
This are some of my takes on the episode, I really love it from start to finish and didn't find anything wrong with it, its the very first time I feel about this while watching the series, I know they cant do every other episode like this but damn is this a 9/10, its not perfect but its very close because it had a bit of everything from character development when showing Fisk as the Kingpin, team work when Punisher help protect Daredevil, context when they show the scene of Vanessa talking to Bullseye at the Mental Health Institution was in, very gory action fights.
I have to say that over all I give this first season an 8/10 because as I mention now that I'm use to its flow I think I'm ready for season 2, I could see part of the audience still been a bit harsh on the series giving it a 7 over all but that's neither a bad score, yes the series had some average episodes and everyone was piss off when they killed the Muse so easily but as I mention I think the approach to secondary villains is similar to how it goes on animated series where they kill them within two to three episodes at most and focus on a bigger fish like Fisk, a bigger story developing in the background.
